Doug Irgang gave 100% to everything he did. Whether it was his devotion and love for his family, his commitment to work or his passion for swimming, Doug gave it his all. His life reminds us of a valuable lesson – live each day to the fullest.
To Honor Doug the Irgang Family formed a non-for-profit Memorial Scholarship Fund in Dougs name. Doug was a competitive swimmer. He swam on a team at the Asphalt Green Pool in NYC. The Fund memorializes Doug and his teammate, Andrew Fisher who also perished in the WTC. All the money raised is used to support kids who want to swim at Asphalt Green, but cant afford to. To date we've raised over $600,000.
On Saturday morning, September 13th, 2008 from 9-11am, we are having our 8th annual "Swim For The Future" Benefit at Asphalt Green (www.asphaltgreen.com). For more information check out www.swimforthefuture.org or contact me or Sari at steven@irgang.com or sari@irgang.com or 917.721.4815. We hope to see you there. Thank you for your support.
-Steven Irgang
